RESEARCH INTERESTS
My program of research focuses on serious illness communication and care transitions in the community setting, particularly among persons living with dementia and their care partners. I specialize in using machine-learning methods to integrate nursing knowledge into interpretable clinical algorithms and in implementing systematic approaches aimed at reducing health disparities for persons with high medical and social needs. The overarching goal of my program of research is to prevent non-beneficial hospitalizations and improve access to hospice and palliative care services among those living with advanced serious illness. My research has been funded by the National Institute of Nursing 研究, the National 图书馆 of Medicine, the Agency for Healthcare 研究 and Quality, and the National Institute on Aging.
